Freeze issue: POP Feedback

Hello,

I’ve been studying POPs in TouchDesigner and following a tutorial. Even though the network doesn’t seem to be doing anything very heavy, TouchDesigner crashes.

here is the test file
Feedback_POP_problem.3.toe (4.8 KB)
In this file, I was trying to build something like a touchscreen using a Container and a Panel CHOP, and then use POPs with a Feedback loop to create a system for freehand drawing.

Specifically, when I set null4 (see attached screenshot) as the target for a POP Feedback loop, the program crashes immediately.

I’m not sure if this is a problem with my PC’s performance, an issue with how I’m using POP, or something else entirely. Please tell me how I can fix this.
Thank you.

Can you confirm which build you are using? Please update to 2025.30960 if you are using an older build.
Are there any dump files to help us debug the issue?

Sorry, my previous wording wasn’t accurate. It’s not really a “crash” — TouchDesigner actually freezes and becomes unresponsive, so I don’t get any dump files.

I was running this with the latest build 2025.30960. After restarting my PC and going through the tutorial again today, it seemed fine for a while — no freeze in the earlier stages. But eventually it still froze later on.

This is the file, when I turn feedback1’s Play on, the program always freezes.

Feedback_POP_problem.16.toe (6.7 KB)

In the tutorial video everything runs smoothly without freezing, so I’m wondering why it behaves differently on my side.

For reference, here’s the tutorial I’m following:

Thanks for the example file, I was able to reproduce so we’ll have a dev look at it.

Thanks @neleff. This looks like a recent regression. We are looking into it.

This is sorted out in build 2025.32280, you can get it now.
