Gaussian Splat from Luma AI looks "jagged"

I am playing with some splats and the POPs rendering method.

Splats from Luma AI are rendering as “jagged” for me:

Here’s the same ply file in supersplat, so the file seems good:

Is there a known fix for this?

Does the original version by Tim give you the same look? https://derivative.ca/community-post/asset/gaussian-splatting/69107

The POPs version is just a straight port for demonstration purposes, unless there’s a bug specific to POPs this might be a better place to discuss Gaussian Splatting - 2024-03-04 - #20 by atarilover123

Im on mac right now, so I have to use the modified TOPs version from Dan: GitHub - atarilover123/GaussianSplat_TD

Luma gaussian splat plys look fine in this version.

The POPs splat rendering in the new TD Examples have the “jagged” issue - so seems like the issue is at least POPs related.

Ok well this is supe weird - as I was testing more the issue just vanished in all my test files and they are now rendering fine it seems. I don’t think I actually changed anything… no idea what was happening. I did download the scans again.

Well sorry for wasting your time.

No worries, thanks for the update, if you can reproduce consistently let us know, there might be a bug, maybe something didn’t cook right and the splats hadn’t refreshed when you encountered the issue.
