Not sure it’s a bug, but an out-of-the-box Grid SOP, when in rows+columns mode, displays very strangely.
All I did to this grid was set x, y size and rows and columns. After a bit more digging, I found the source of the oddity: the normals:
It seems each alternating row’s normals have opposite Z values. Is this normal and/or intentional? It threw me off for the longest time until I found the defaulted-to-on toggle for computing normals. When I flip it off, the output looks as expected. But this doesn’t seem correct to me.
