Oh its also worth mentioning that they have one 17 inch model which allows for 2 780ms in it which is pretty ridiculous
Iām plunging on the Asus g750JH on its release (early Sept I hope?). I will definitely share my reviews here.
Nice Good info - How does the 6 series work for you? Iām wondering how long I will be satisfied with a 7 series and whether or not I should have got 2 in SLi.
Or maybe Iād regret getting a laptop at all and shouldāve built a shuttle or something? How well does your 6 series mobile perform for your touchdesigner needs?
Aside from the small things that are getting resolved by the Derivative team involving Optimus, my 680M really is great. I run projects on it that we eventually deploy on K5000 Quadros, and the projects run pretty well, usually just lagging a handful of fps behind, which is pretty incredible.
Yeah Iād say things are goodā¦only think to consider is make sure to run one window component and not 3 or 4 (which is my old practice) as it can cause frame drops, particularly bad ones on the 680m
TouchDesigner does not take advantage of SLI in any way, so donāt worry about missing out on that.
just testing a laptop with gtx780m.
Poking around, trying to make sure gpu settings are as they should be.
Any advice for settings in Nvidia, BIOS, etc?
Current Nvidia/Windows/intelgpu cluster!@#$ of control panels is confusing at best. I want to make sure the GPU is being used. Iāve set the NVidia control panel to use NVIDIA processor as āpreferredā. What else is there to set ?

Company that I work at just bought 3 Asus G750s, and all of them are right now working great with the GTX770. So currently no issues, we are going to do some stress testing, iāll post the results if I remember to . I was a bit freaked out if the Optimus thing is going to mess things up, but I believe that it is not used.
By the way, pre-installed McAfee antivirus hogged the entire system, so watch out for that one.
Best,
Pavel
^ Awesome
I ended up purchasing the asusg750jh i think youll like yours a lot
First thing I did with my asus 750 was wipe it clean and fresh install windows 7 lol
Hereās my review for those curious: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5251
Thanks for the awesome review. Sounds pretty much accurate to my findings. We left Touch running on the G75 for about 13 hours, and did not crash (with kinect, tracing geometry, particles - quite heavy scene). What we are experiencing sometimes is that there are some massive frame drops in the network editor, although I am not familiar with the fact that if it happens during perform mode. It could also be caused be the scene, but I doubt it.
For now itās all good though!
