Guitar channels on audioreactive

Hello everyone!

I’m creating an audioreactive visual for a Rock band and the client wants me to generate some waves to the guitar sounds, i’m already using the audioanalysis to select some channels, but I can’t figure out how to filter/select the guitar from the audio file…
Anyone knows a technique that might helps me to solve this??

If it’s a recorded track or album, ask to have the separate guitar track.

If the band is playing live, I recommend receiving a separate input from the sound desk just with the guitar signal and nothing else.
If they don’t have a sound desk, (let’s say it’s an acoustic band) you can always run your own mic and connect it to your sound card, or grab the signal from an amp, a pedal…

This will give you by far the best results.

Filtering out or using EQ to isolate the guitar won’t work very nearly as frequency overlap across instruments.
