Hello everyone,
I am having a persistent issue with the Movie File Out TOP when trying to render using H.264 (Nvidia GPU). The node throws the following error, and I cannot export any video using hardware encoding:
Error: Unsupported Preset Selected (/project1/moviefileout1)
Here are my system specifications:
-
TouchDesigner Version: 2022.24200 (I need to stay on 2022 for project compatibility)
-
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q (Laptop)
-
OS: Windows 10 / 11
What I have tried so far (none of these worked):
-
Updated to the latest Nvidia Studio Driver.
-
Downgraded to older Nvidia Studio Drivers (using DDU for a clean wipe).
-
Changed the H.264 Presets inside the TOP (Default, P4, High Performance, etc.).
-
Forced TouchDesigner to run on the RTX 2070 via Windows Graphics Settings (to avoid Optimus/Intel GPU conflicts).
-
Fixed the Windows Regional Settings (changed decimal symbol from comma to dot) to clear out some TScript keyframer errors I was getting.
-
Completely uninstalled TouchDesigner, wiped the
Derivativefolders in AppData, cleared the Registry entries, and performed a clean reinstall of 2022.24200. -
Deleted the Movie File Out TOP and created a fresh one.
Hardware encoding (Nvidia GPU) used to work perfectly on this exact machine before, but now nothing seems to fix this preset error. CPU rendering (Hardware Encoding = Off) works, but I really need NVENC back.
Are there any hidden environment variables, specific driver versions, or workarounds for this specific 2022 build? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
