I’ve tried h264 encoding in a movie out top - didn’t complain but no file was ever
created. if I chose another encoding everything worked as usual.
is it my hardware?

Nvidia broke their encoder in the 195/196 versions of their drivers. Is this what you have? I hear there is a new 196 coming out soon that should fix it, but I can’t confirm this until I try.
191.xx should work though.
I just reverted to a good driver, but it’s still not creating any file. Is it possible my graphic card doesn’t support it?
geforce go 7950 gtx
It’s possible that card doesn’t support it, but it should error and tell you…
Which build are you using?
5167
it works with any other codec, but with h264 no file is created.
I just tried with 191.07 on a Geforce 260 and it worked, so I think it must be that card.
It should still give an error though.
When I get a chance I’ll try with a newer card on one of our workstations and let you know.

The new 197.xx drivers fix the H264 encoding problems.
197.45 on win7 with 285 card does not seem to work
Hey, that driver works for me. There was however a few builds of Touch where it was broken for other reasons. Does the build you are using have a H264 tab in the Movie Out TOP’s parameters? If so then its just broken for another reason, which is now fixed.
Further info, builds with an H264 tab in their parameters after build 5573 will have working H264 again.
