Have a separate window that shows the preview of the active node?

I forgot how to have a separate window in TD that shows the preview of the active node. Not doing a right click and choosing viewer, but instead, a neat side window that shows the view of the active node selected. How to get it?

If I choose “tops viewer” in the split pane on the right, it doesn’t show the display of whatever node is active.

I split the pane in two, then I chose TOPS viewer. I have to select the ones that I want, and deselect the ones that I don’t want. If I select blue display circle on more than one, I get this.

Last year, I did some setting that I can’t recall in which the pane on the right showed just one selected node display.

Just selecting the node activated the view on the right.

I can’t seem to figure it out.

Set the pane-linking menu so that the 2 panes have the same number.

looks like this

Still facing the same issue. Didn’t make any difference. Here is a screen recording.

Oh sorry, I thought you wanted to do something else, ie. you can view the inside of another selected COMP in a linked pane. But selecting a node doesn’t work for TOPs, you need to control the display flag for TOPs.

I don’t understand. Can you please explain it with a short video or screenshot?

In a linked pane, I can view things anyway. Also, changing the numbers from the drop down menu doesn’t affect the outcome, the left hand pane can have 0,1,2, no link and the right hand pane can have any random number, it doesn’t matter, the linked preview still remains.
