Help Creating a Smooth to Spiky Circle

Hello! I am still pretty new to TD, and I am struggling with how to set up an effect where a Circle SOP starts smooth and transitions to spiky (see below image).

I’ve played around with trying a ‘Wave CHOP’ into a ‘CHOP to SOP’ to get the smooth to spiky line, then feeding that into a ‘Polyspline CHOP’ with a ‘Circle SOP’ input. However, I have been unsuccessful in achieving the desired effect.

I have been through the operator(s) documentation, but I am still coming up at a loss. Any help on pointing me in the right direction would be extremely helpful and appreciated, thank you!

Hi!

Starting with a NURBS circle, selecting alternate points and scaling them in seems to work.

Hi!

This is exactly what I was trying to achieve! I can’t thank you enough, I’ve been stuck on this for the past few days. I hadn’t even thought about points, which seems a little silly now looking back at how I was attempting to do this. But regardless, I am very appreciative of your help and thank you again!
