Hi all, beginner with a question. Was working on a project and I noticed my frame rate dipping from 60ms to around 40ms. When I loaded the “probe” tool I found that the culprit seemed to be my Noise Tops, which are showing a cook time of 57.852 ms.
I did some experimenting and nothing seemed to help. Eventually as an test I loaded a blank project, made sure every other application on my computer was closed, and dropped in a noise top. The basic noise top, with no settings changed, shows a CPU cook time of 57.852 seconds.
What is especially confusing to me is the type of noise selected is Perlin 2D which should be running on the GPU, not the CPU. Including screenshots showing the info and the probe tool results.
Is this normal? Is there some setting I am missing? 40fps isn’t terrible I suppose but would prefer to optimize if possible. Im running this on a Macbook Pro with M1 Chips if that means anything.
Thanks!
