High gpu cooktime on inTOP

I am having trouble with the GPU Cook Time inTOP after renderTOP taking an abnormally long time. Even with a simple project like the screenshot, it takes 7 to 20 ms just for inTOP.

This issue seems to have been resolved in 2022.40000 in 2023,

but it appears to still be occurring.

Does anyone know of a solution?

OS:
Windows 11 Pro for Workstation

TouchDesigner / NVIDIA Driver Version (The latest as of today. Two types of drivers were tested):
2023.12370
Game Ready Driver 581.08
Studio Driver 580.97

Reinstalling the NVIDIA driver (Studio/Game Ready) and restarting the PC will prevent this problem from occurring for a while. However, it will recur after 1-2 days. Once it recurs, the problem will continue indefinitely. Reproduction and debugging are difficult.

Are you seeing frames drops when you see these high numbers, or is the only symptom the high number?

Sorry for the late reply.

In the end, I couldn’t figure out the exact cause.
It doesn’t seem that the inTOP itself has a heavy processing load — I think what’s shown there reflects some waiting time somewhere in the GPU pipeline.
The issue occurred even when GPU usage was under 10%, and sometimes there were frame drops, sometimes not. The problem reproduced inconsistently.

The strange thing is, the frame drops weren’t happening in this sample project I posted here, but in a production project I use for work. After downgrading TouchDesigner to version 2023.12000, the issue almost completely disappeared. There are still rare, random frame drops, but much less frequent now.

Since I can’t reliably reproduce or report the problem anymore, I’ll close this thread.
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for your time!
