how do i import an image sequence ...?

A very simple question i know, I just can’t seem to work it out!

my image sequence is named clip01.(0001-0650).jpg. I see in the wiki that it says to
specify the folder containing the images, just can’t seem to get it to work?

any help would be great thanks!

I had a problem with that also until if figured out that not only do you have to specify the folder of images in the moviein top but you also need to set the speed of the movie to 30 or whatever framerate you want the image sequence to play at. At the default speed of 1 it plays 1 image per second.

ha yeah I got there in the end with the ‘override sample rate option’,
also seem to need to manually type in the directory location into the movie in TOP,
anyhow it works!

Nice, I missed the override samplerrate option

Great, thanks for the tip.

And is it possible to control which frame is displayed? Like I need to start an animation, then stop when the user is doing an action, reverse the animation, and so on…

Possible to get the current frame index or so?

You can use an info CHOP and set its Operator parameter to be the moviefilein. It will give you the index possibly as a floating point so you might want to use a Match CHOP after the info CHOP with its Integer value set to floor.
