Hi im trying to basically slow down specific parts of my video and then return to normal speed i am using chatgpt at the moment i was told to add a keyframe operator and then speed and then null and export to my moviefile in. I want told in my keyframe operator i should click a pen icon to access the keyframe editor but i dont see it anywhere can anyone please help me please.
@Kelvin810 If you load count.mov into a moviefilein top from here: C:/Program Files/Derivative/TouchDesigner.2023.12230/Samples/Map/Count.mov and then play with the Speed parameter you can see it does what you want.
Then you can use many different methods to control this speed parameter (LFO chop, Animation COMP, Event Chop, ramp etc as you desire.
BTW I have been playing with ChatOpen for the last few months and have cancelled my paid subscription because about 80% of technical advice it supplies is total crap and simply does not work. Machine hallucinations for sure. Do the work, do the learning tutorials on derivative under Learn and forget about shortcuts with ChatGPT. I like it for editing presentations and maybe making some illustrations for posters but when it comes to code and TD it has been very misleading and inaccurate in my experience. Anything beyond mainstream common usage.
Good luck and forget about the machine hallucinations of chatGPT…
thank you also im confused so basically im working on a video of a model i tried the animation operator but idk i find it confusing i am a visual learner and i havent found a video on youtube on doing keyframe on a video i have only just seen it on shapes. Your right about how i should stop using chatgpt i need to build on my cognitive skills and i have come to realise chatgpt is only useful for someone if they already know how things work ,know fundamentals and just have a goal they want to achieve so that it will actually bring value to them.
Hi i was able to figure it out lol i basically clicked the speed on the moviefilein now i want to like add the line coming out of the persons clothe in the video
Hello,
As I say in your other post, why do you need to use TouchDesigner ?
TouchDesigner is great, but it needs a lot of practice to have a good understanding and as gordharris says, chatGPT is not a good friend for that.
If the project is to produce a film from clips with text and other extras, I really recommand daVinci Resolve. Its free and you have Fusion to create compositions.
If you want to explore image, sound, interactivity and many other topics, go to TouchDesigner but follow some tutorials and exercise your skills.
Here is a good start:
Sorry for the late reply i thought i did respond to this and yeah you are right about chatgpt and i will be sticking to learning fundamental and following some tutorials like you said.
The LEARN section on Derivative is also great so try to work through those one at a time (not just watch). Also Bileam Tschepe’s beginner tutorials are awesome and fun. Don’t get discouraged. Just watch first until you understand and then build and make variations with your own network. Often the accidents and weird mistakes you will naturally make lead you to some wonderful visuals! Play around a lot @Kelvin810!
