How to overlay and mix images sources

hello i have just start learning touchdesigner
There is one thing i need to know quickly. If i work on process a videoclip, i want to be able to output the mix of the original video with the processed one…don’t know how to do. All the component that seems to output the video only allow one input, in my idea i’d need some component to allow more than 1 input so i can mix signals…
please let me know…
thanks a lot!

In TOPS you might look at the Composite TOP as a operator that can mix together multiple input TOPs.

thank you, i can see that. is there a way i can control tha amount is displaye di composite form the difffernt sources?i want to send let’s say the inpu1 1 at 80% and input 2 at 40%. How do i control that?

also, ho do i mix together audio and video in the same output?or better to create some kind of synch between the two

Hi Stefan
In the “Movie file out” TOP you can specify an audio CHOP to go with the movie.

I think you are looking for the cross TOP. It takes a 0-1 parameter for how to mix the input images. But note that you would not be able to take 80% of input 1 and 40% of input 2 - they have to add to 100% (1.0 actually).

Hey @cbudin,

that’s a really good point. For a lot of compositing you would want to make sure that the result fits into the 0-1 range. You could though use a Pixel Format of higher than the default 8 bit and then use Level TOPs to control how much of each source is being used in the compositing operation like with the Add TOP for example. Append a Level after and Normalize the values and the result should be as expected.

Or just normalize the values right away: int he example 80/40 just divide these by 1.2…

cheers
