how to record osc in data

Is there a way to record the OSC data coming from my lemur ipad to make a file that could be played so then reproduce those automations. I see all my channels moving in the Record CHOP but I’m kind of stuck there. I think I would have to send the OSC out to the ipad to animate the lemur then the lemur would send it to the OSC in as it is already configured. I think I would need the File Out CHOP to keep the channels names that are already link to the DAT table. If someone could give me a tip about that I would appreciate. I could not find something helping on the forum so far. thanks.

An easy way to do similar is hook up your OSC CHOP to a Trail CHOP and set it to trail for 30 seconds (or however long you want to record), then immediately when you’re done doing your actions (or you fill up your Trail CHOP), lock the Trail CHOP. Set your frame loop start and end in the bottom left of the UI to match the frames of your Trail CHOP.

Then you use a Trim CHOP set to Current Time Slice, and it will read through your Trail CHOP wherever your timeline is.

A helpful note: Trail CHOP has a very taxing viewer, if you have a ton of channels being drawn, but you can’t turn off it’s viewer because it will stop cooking. Workaround: Hook up a Null CHOP set to Always cook right after it, and turn off both of their viewers while you’re recording (although then it’s hard to keep track of when your trail is full).

Record chop?

thanks for the tips Elburz. it helped a lot it’s working  If my lemur app could just receive the osc now it would be good. But it seems to have something wrong at some point. One of the lemur sliders is receiving float values but not what it is supposed to be. the routing is:Trail/Trim/Null/OSC out Chop set to : protocol UDP/lemur IP and port/Active/Queue 15 frames/Cook every frames/time slice/bytes 8000 …
TD is receiving just fine from lemur app…

Have you tried changing the OSC Out CHOP : Format to Sample? (instead of Time Slice)
or even Transpose?
I vaguely recall Transpose being added for the lemur, but I might be mistaken.

thanks Rob but I’ve tried this and nothing has changed.

Okay, we’ll continue the conversation in this thread:
