I want to animate vines growing around my model, I am going to use wire frame sop, but I need nice looking organic curves to use as profiles - is there any way I can make them outside of touch? Otherwise I’ll try rigging up a line sop with anim curves controlling xyz but i think it will be confusing to work with that way.
I’ve used houdini to create nice nurbs curves that you can then use as extrude paths. The trick is if you’re trying to use the UV data to make things animate, you need to mess with the regularity of the UV increments to make things spread down the curves correctly.
Houdini curves saved as bhclassic should come in pretty easily with the File SOP.
Another option is create smooth channel noise and use a limit SOP to get the geometry.
