Anyone try yet?
Thoughts?

Jim

Looks like a more reasonably priced version of this http://emotiv.com/ technology. In 2007 at CES they demo’d this for video game controls, which might still be a ways off. Would be fun to play around with and I’m sure you could create quite interesting responses in Touch.

Great!
Beyond great!
Thanks Ben!
Moving forward.
I’ll keep you posted.

Jim

At one point last year I was developing a product for the Emotiv controller, had a prototype piece of hardware and got it talking to Touch via OSC. Pretty fun stuff, but dropped the project when it appeared that product launch plans were delayed.

Hi guys! Awsome idea about connecting this “mindreader”)

Have anyone any result in using this with Touch?

Hey Sheff,

I was all set to buy an Emotiv, thinking it would cost me $350,
but to get the version you need for Touch (to get access to the wave data) is around $850 if I remember correctly.
So I’m waiting.
Are you doing anything with this?
I plan to in a couple months.
Where are you based out of?
I’m near Los Angeles.

Jim

I’m from Ukraine, Kiev. A little far from you)
Going to buy this stuff but I don’t know what version is compatible for Touch! Can you tell a little bit about correct version of Emotiv hardware?

Hey Sheff,

sorry for the late reply.
I’ve been away from the computer and in the mountains writing fiction for a while.
The Emotiv folks have live online chat that can help you select the version that you need.
I suggested that reaffirm this is indeed the product that you’re after:

This type of tech is a huge interest of mine,
one I’ve been dreaming of just years after I could walk.
To speak/type candidly, much of the exploration I’ve examined with this device harkens to the film Idiocracy.
The best minds in the world figuring out how to keep people from going bald, do boob jobs, and keep old guys hard.
That or kill online zombies.
I feel that what we’re dealing with here is a potential translator between individual subjective minds, and with that, an unlocking of direct pattern recognition based communication infused with emotion and intuition.

I have volumes of (previously useless) applicable research/info inside my psychotic mind.
Unfortunately I had to choose between going Imax 3D, and the Emotiv head set… so in that, perhaps I also fit into Idiocracy.
I plan to get one soon, along with a Max-2-Ableton-Live upgrade.
That said, I’m very interested, and am likely open to discussing application/access with you if you purchase one.
That is, once we’ve done an introductory meeting by phone or through Skype, and checked compatibility.
