In order to make the network editor more visible, we would like to temporarily obscure operators that do not need to be visible at all times. An example would be material that is connected to a switch operator.
My ideal would be something like Abletonlive’s group feature. There are very few functional or visual restrictions when multiple tracks are combined into one group. Is there any way to achieve this kind of functionality in Touchdesigner?
I have tried two ways to achieve this, but neither is perfect and I would appreciate a better solution.
One is to store it in a container. The disadvantage of this method is that it is not possible to receive the numerical value of the chopop outside the container. Even if it could, going back and forth inside the container is very inconvenient in terms of drag and drop.
The second is the docking method. The drawback of this is that you cannot dock multiple operators in one action, and it is not very visually pleasing because when undocked, it covers the other operators.
It would take some work to turn it into a system like you describe, but you can hide operators using their expose member.
