Importing animated .swf

Thanks for reading this!

I’m trying to import an animated .swf file with Movie File In TOP but I just get an error of “Failed to open file.”

The file is exported from Adobe Animate and plays fine in After Effects. Can anyone guide me to the right direction of how to import animated swf files to further process in Touch Designer.

The small test file I created is here https://send.firefox.com/download/1797a1cd407d80ca/#sfeMcux-xzjfj3Zv384nYg

Hmm - according to the docs, that does look like a supported file type:

That sounds like maybe it’s a bug? I also wasn’t able to get your file to play.

How did I never see that? But yeah, none of my old SWFs would import (from my Macromedia days) and all of them were very simple animations with no interactivity or scripting.

It may be that only single frame “still image” SWFs would work since SWF is listed under “Image” file types that TD can import and not “Movie” file types…

Or most likely it’s a bug / typo. Would be awesome if it did work though.

We only support playing video emded in .swf files. The vector graphics requires Adobe’s rendering system which we don’t have access to.
