Importing .ply file into TD but the resolution is limited to max 1280x1280 workaround?

Hi,

I am trying to import an .ply file from Polycam but i get the following warning that the resolution is limited to max 1280x1280. I am a total beginner in TD so I have no idea how to get around this. Please let me know if you have suggestions. Much love

The Point File In TOP stores the point data in the pixels of an image and there is a limit to the maximum texture resolution in the free non-commercial version of TouchDesigner. If you upgrade to a paid version (Educational, Commercial or Professional) than there are no limits on the size of images that you can work with other than what your hardware supports.

Alternatively, you could also load the PLY file into the Point File In POP using the new 2025.31550 release which doesn’t use images for storage and so won’t run into that limit.
