I’m planning an interactive installation featuring a large LED wall and six floor buttons. When visitors jump or step on these buttons, each one will trigger a different animation on the LED wall.
I have two questions:
What type of LED wall would be suitable for this installation, considering we need to set it up and take it down daily over a span of two months at various locations?
What kind of sensors can we use to detect when the buttons are pressed?
I can’t give you any advice on the LED side of things, but for the floor sensors, we have used the I-CubeX sensor system. It’s quite a handy little bit of kit - doesn’t require much, (if any) coding, and you can plug multiple sensors and different kinds of sensors in at a time.
To use it in this example we just placed it under a tile of carpet and users could step on the carpet and it would provide the amount of force, meaning you could have granular interactivity.
We have also used this for a permanent installation so they are quite reliable imo.
Thank you so much for the detailed advice! This sounds like exactly what I need. I really appreciate you sharing the links and your experience with the I-CubeX sensor system. I’ll definitely give it a try!
