Is there a way to create a fairly realistic milk simulation in TD? And then have the mouse pointer create a ripple effect in the milk in order to reveal an image behind it? So wherever I move mouse pointer, the ripple effect would follow it, thus revealing parts of the image along the way.
I’m on a Mac so I don’t have NVIDIA or Windows so not sure what the best way is to go about it. Shaders seem like the next possible step but again - supernoob over here. Some instructions on how to approach this would be more than helpful.

I don’t think Kurt’s approach is limited to NVIDIA hardware, I think it’s all shader based. You might need to turn down the level of detail / or resolution, but that’s a good place to start investigating.
