Is there a way to clear the cache on webrender TOP without restarting the toe file? I sometimes have to update images stored in S3 during production, but the webrender top always caches the old image. I have to reboot the computer and restart the toe in order to see the new image, which of course is not an option during a production.
Hi @t.doyel
I’ll add an RFE for this. In the meantime could you use the Web Render TOP’s User Cache Directory parameter to point to a custom path and then clean this folder out by hand before reloading the page?
cheers

+1 on that. I did test the cache directory and also had issues with it keeping something in cache even after clearing the directory.
OP:
You can attach arbitrary query params to the link to the image to force a fresh reload like a timestamp or uuid which should be ignored by the webserver but is interpreted as a new URL by the cache.
Our production toe file runs on an AWS EC2 with little to no remote access and is only controlled via api. Not sure how I would send a command through an api to clear the contents of a folder.
Question, Would clearing out the URL file name and then copying back in clear the cache?
Touchdesigner’s python can do file manipulation so you would just point it at that local folder on the VM and clear it based on a callback. If you experience a delay from the synchronous operation then do it in a thread.
