Is there a way to use geometry instancing on a surface/meshes "center points" instead of their vertices?

In regards to geometry instancing, is there any way to populate geometry across the instance reference’s “Center Points” rather than their vertices? Hopefully the image below helps describe what I’m looking for better. Basically, I want to know if it’s possible/how can I drill down to an object’s mesh face center points so I can use them for instancing geometry.

Facet SOP (unique points ), primitive SOP (scale to 0), facet SOP (consolidate points)

Wow, thank you Achim! Works like a charm.
