Jack router crash

Hi,
selecting Jack Router as the ASIO source causes a crash, TD just quits, no dump file or anything…trying to route some synthesis stuff from max.

TD 2020.22080
Windows10 v1903 build 18362.720

thanks for any help!

Following up here, I remembered I had an older 088 version installed here, so i tried that and lo and behold Jack Router works on 088 64-bit build 62610 (same windows machine as above)

I tried a workaround by using 088 and then touchout chop to get it into 099, but the audio isnt perfect when doing so. Also tried the audiostrout chop as well, but the audio quality is poor. would love to get this work directly in 099 - i am trying to get some stuff together to do a performance via the internets. thanks.

@delray Yeah this has been a long standing problem, we haven’t been able to make any headway on it unfortunately.

Hello.
So after some investigation with JackAudio/Jack 2 for Windows 64, there appear to
be unresolved stability issues with their ASIO implementation, on initial load. (CoCreateInstance)

Namely it is the same open issue documented here:
libjack64.dll crashes on application startup · Issue #275 · jackaudio/jack2 · GitHub
jack2 windows crash · Issue #332 · jackaudio/jack2 · GitHub

Unfortunately, the latest compiled Windows 64 dlls from the site are 1.9.11 though
the latest release should be 1.9.14, assuming that addresses the issue.

I would recommend contacting the maintainers of the project and asking them to
address the issue.

Thanks for your support.
Rob.
