I did a projection mapping setup last night and it went okay BUT kantan mapper tool in the palette was super frustrating because it seemed after drawing a few shapes it wouldn’t let me close the free form. The solution I found was to save the mapping file, close the software open it, load it again and then draw one shape and redo this over and over again, I had about 30 shapes…
Anyone have advice on this issue? see below for the error it’s throwing as well.
touchdesigner Build 2023.11880 but I updated to 2023.12000 and still had the same issue.
Windows 11 Pro version 23H2
AMD Ryzen 7950x3d, Geforce RTX 3090 (Ventus trio), Kingston KF560C30-32 DDR5 (64gb) (let me know if you need any other hardware info)
Nope, I started a brand new project to do the mapping so that I could bring it over to the intensive project after, thought that might be the issue but it still remained.
Clicking on the mouse tools worked for a bit but it seemed after a certain amount of shapes drawn it bugged out.
Right now as I was prepping the file to upload I tried it out and the first one or two new shapes drawn when re-launching it from desktop is no problem but the second or third generally won’t let me close it. So make sure to try a few to replicate the issue.
Thanks for getting back to me! Let me know if there’s any other info you need.
thank you - this was perfectly reproducible. I hope to have identified the proper issue.
There was a lookup into a table by row-number instead of row-name causing it to be impossible to identify the shape to be closed.
Attached a fixed KantanMapper plus your file with the fix included.
Does this mean that it will be updated in the palette in the next release?
Is there a way to replace the default tox’s to have it automatically load this updated one?
EDIT: Above question was very easy to do myself if anyone else is having the issue, on windows just place the tox overwriting (if you want) here C:\Program Files\Derivative\TouchDesigner.2023.12000\Samples\Palette\Mapping
