Keyframe channel groups and xform handle, when?

Hi,

I may have missed the reply, but I had posted a few months ago my summary of the otherwise excellent (usable beginning of the) keyframe editor.

My opinion is that without channel groups (even based on Mycomp:myobj:mychan - that is automatically generated by the ‘:’ in the name) and without the possibility to select and time/value stretch a group of keys - the keyframe editor is useless for any serious animation work.

On the other hand, with only those two additions, it would be useable - with improvements down the line but it’s something we can live with.

Far from me from pushing, but I’m pushing to know if and WHEN the above features are planned to come on line. With all the recent changes, we’re kind of forced to change animation package, abandon Houdini and either go to Maya, MBuilder or - my preferred choice, implement animation tools in Touch. Without the information I’m asking though, it will be suicidal to make a decision one way or another, as I don’t know if/when touch will be usable for serious anim.

thanks!
dani

Hi Dani, just to re-iterate for the others:
The scale/transform handle has been re-activated in the latest build.
Its activated with the Tab key I believe.

We do not have channels groups per se, but as all channels are now defined by DAT tables
this would ultimately entail some scripting, to swap out one list with another.
We dont have this on our list currently, but potentially it could be implemented at a user level.

Cheers
Rob.

There is also a RMB menu so you can see functionality available and short cuts keys.
