Just spent pretty much my whole weekend and today diagnosing computer issues. Turned out to be a bad RAM chip (Corsair Vengeance)
What I figured out in the process though is that the Kinect Runtime v1.6 for windows is screwed up and a bunch of people have reported getting errors while trying to install it. Log file will say something about not being able to cache memory and something about WIXbootstrapper.
Just figured I may save someone from wasting time 
Perhaps Microsoft will fix this…
