Kinect v1 360 stops working when using an external display / monitor

Hi all,

I have a MacBook Pro 13" (retina) mid 2014 model running TouchDesigner in BootCamp on windows 10.

CPU - i5 @ 2.8ghz
iGPU Intel iris 5100

I can use my Kinect v1 with no problems while I am using the laptops inbuilt monitor, however when I plug in an external monitor through HDMI the Kinect stops working (ie. the red sensors won’t come on and it just won’t pick up any movement or anything.)

I tried using the minidisplay port (thunderbolt 2 port) instead of the HDMI port to connect my monitor, but still no joy.

Im unsure if it’s a graphics card issue, or if it’s related to the power within the USB/HDMI/mini Display ports. (Because the Kinect is plugged in via USB)

I was using the 2020 version of TouchDesigner and then I updated it to the most recent but still no luck.

Anyhelp would be much appreciated. @ben

Thanks heaps,

Dan
