Kinectcalibration Camera off axis

I recently tried the kinectcalibration tool again - it was great a couple years ago. But for some reason, it’s renders completely blank. I looked at the set up and the camera is facing the opposite direction and at a different angle than the point cloud it built. The image it makes was upside down - so maybe the camera was in the right position but it rendered the scene incorrectly.

I tried adjusting the camera angle but I can’t find the sweet spot. Can someone take a look and see what may have happened? The calibration tool is super awesome when it works.

UPDATE - I think it’s because it’s not recognizing the checkerboard and is not calibrating properly. Sometimes i’ll get the green dots that indicate it recognized the checkerboard but it still errors

“Error too high, try again: 2.13935668105”

Hi @Flowtricks, we’ll look into it. Can you confirm what build you are using?

Whoop, thank you. I’m using 2023.11340.

Using 11510 but I can’t seem to get it to recognize the checkerboard. I’m taking a screenshot…it’s not finding it for some reason.

I’m using 2023.11510 now and I’m still having issues. One thing I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t natively recognize the azure TOPs in the Kinectcalibration pallette (but I can get azure tops to work if I manually create it). I had to delete the azure tops from within the kinectcalibration file and then make my own for it to work. I wanted to share that as well.

This shows the azure top working great, then I delete it and import the kinectcalibration pallette. From there, the azure top errors.

And of course, even when I do the workaround method, it’s not recognizing the checkerboard still.

Here is the error when it says “error too high”
