Is there any way in Touch to have one output of 12800x960 or 6400x1920 going out of one HDMI and to split that into ten 4:3 outputs?
Basically, I will have one laptop with a single gtx 1070 in it giving me my one large output. I am unsure of what hardware I will need to split that into ten signals each going into one crt TV. Would I use a datapath or triplehead of some sort?
Nicky I am beginner at all this TD stuff too but I do have a Datapath X4 driving (3) 1920 x 1200 projectors successfully and one 1920 x 1080p Sony HDTV set from an HDMI output on laptop with 1920 x 1080p output 60 hz. So the X4 is doing the image scaling but the “effective” resolution can be no higher than what is feeding it - the 1920 x 1080p laptop output from GTX 1060 card from TD. I don’t think HDMI can handle anything like the 12K or 6K resolution you are talking about, but others more experienced can comment on bandwidth. Similarly, my Matrox Triple Head to go does not list any possible outputs that high. Bandwidth limits. If you are more concerned about just getting ten outputs and aren’t too fussed by resolution you can use MULTIPLE X4’s or similar I think but will be limited mainly by your graphics driver card. Look up the specs for gtx 1070 and compare to datapath manual specs to see what is possible. If you don’t have one handy you can take a look at this one here.[https://datapathdocuments.https://datapathdocuments.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Datapath-x4_User_Guide_EN.pdfco.uk/wp-content/uploads/Datapath-x4_User_Guide_EN.pdf] Worth a browse…
Thanks for your response Gord, I may try to get my hands on a few Datapath X4s. The only other option I could think of was building a custom PC with a blackmagic DeckLink Quad 2. Which, if I can’t rent the Datapaths, may be the cheaper option.
You are very welcome. I am not familiar with the blackmagic stuff - will check it out sometime…
Good luck!
