Hello! I am trying to operate a Shehds 3W laser scanner using Ether Dream 4 DAC with TD laser and Laser Device CHOPs for ILDA communication. I’ve had success projecting the laser with several different effect networks, but I’m experiencing issues where the laser times out or gets overloaded periodically and shuts off for several minutes at a time. As expected, the more complex projections seem to result in a faster shutoff, while the less complex ones run for longer before shutting off. The laser device chop and DAC will still show that it’s outputting even though the projection stops.
I have spent lots of time tuning parameters in alignment with recommend settings from the manufacturer (i.e. keeping it under 20KPPS) but cannot seem to resolve this ongoing problem.
In the attached example, I’ve just got two line SOPs with expressions for X and Y that move the line positions and change their length. They go into into Point SOPs which merge into switch1 before outputting to laser CHOP and then laser Device CHOP. The parameters for laser CHOP and laser device CHOP are shown in the screenshots.
