Learn Touch by Learning Houdini?

SInce both TD and Houdini share a common root, would any of the intro tutorials on Houdini be useful in mastering TD as well?

To a degree, and only after you have a fairly good knowledge of touch, so that you can work around the differences. Some of the older tutorials , around Houdini 4, should be the easiest to transfer to touch…

I’m using this as a guide: amazon.com/Houdini-Spot-Time … 0240808622
About 70% of what I’ve covered has been applicable to TD; if not, its easily smoothed over with basic use of expressions.

Interestingly as I’ve gained proficiency with Touch I’ve become more comfortable with Houdini. TD strips away a level of complexity, enhancing the procedural workflow with its own innovations - without sacrificing flexibility.

More of Houdini’s OP’s would be great; I’m especially excited about the possibilities Python might bring, as an alternative to VEX.

thanks!

yes time to dust off my Python manuals:)
