Hi,
I am trying to use the Logitech C920 web cam and getting no input at all.
Is there a known problem with HD webcams?
Any suggestions appreciated

There are no known problems at this point. One thing to make sure of is that the device is not being used by another application. If you used the webcam with Skype, Quicktime, or some other software, it might not give up its signal to TouchDesigner.
One way to confirm this is to restart your computer and open TouchDesigner first thing and see if you get signal in the Video In TOP.
Thanks for the quick reply!
I have made sure that no other programs are using the device and am still getting a black screen in the VideoIn TOP.
I adjusted settings in the Camera Output Properties to H264 color space/compression and Output size to 1280 x 720, this made no difference. I tried out the other color space and size settings, still no joy.
TouchDesigner uses DirectShow to access webcams. A quick google of “Logitech 920 DirectShow” yielded this: forums.logitech.com/t5/Webcams/D … d-p/814695
Which describes other 920 users having problems accessing the camera using DirectShow. This might be related to the problem. Do you have another webcam to try out, a laptop embedded camera or other older camera? Maybe also turning off H264 would switch modes in the camera, as that is what the post on the logitech forum was referring to.
The laptop webcam works fine, I wanted to use the logitech 920 because of its resolution.
I have tried the various colour modes available within the videoin.
It seems this camera is incompatible.
