Job Title: TouchDesigner Developer (Contract/Freelance)
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented TouchDesigner Developer to join our roster of go-to developers for contract work, project by project. The ideal candidate will work from Figma designs, supported by video examples of transitions and animations, to bring these touch experiences to life. This role requires a deep understanding of TouchDesigner and Python, as well as working with external data and assets downloaded via JSON/API.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build touch screen experiences based on Figma designs and video references for transitions and animations.
- Work with external JSON data to populate content, ensuring seamless integration.
- Create custom extensions within TouchDesigner and work heavily with pre-existing ones.
- Develop dynamic templates that can integrate and be updated via CMS (Drupal).
- Build user interface elements such as scroll areas, scroll bars, custom menus, and video players.
- Develop pages that feature rows of repeating, templated data in a visually engaging way.
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in TouchDesigner, with extensive experience in creating and customizing extensions.
- Solid knowledge of Python and using it with TouchDesigner.
- Experience working with JSON and APIs to pull in dynamic content.
- Ability to optimize TouchDesigner projects and code for a performant experience.
- Proven ability to translate Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator designs into functional, interactive experiences.
- Comfortable developing custom UI components and elements, with a focus on usability and fluid user interactions.
- Professionalism and the ability to meet reasonable deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CMS systems, particularly Drupal, for creating custom content types and views (REST API).
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in replicating animations and transitions from video references or Figma.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently, while being an effective team player.
