Looking for ways to protect floor mounted Slamtec RPLidar units

Hello,
I’m working on an interactive LED floor project and will be using a pair of Slamtec RPLidar units to track peoples feet. So I’ll be mounting them on the floor next to some trade show booth structures. But they are still going to be in the fringes of trafficked audience areas. Has anyone dealt with installing these sensors on the floor and putting some kind of protective housing or cover over them to protect them from being stomped on?

I looked around hoping to find a 3D printed part for it. But I’m not having nay luck.

Anyone work with these units on a floor like this? Any tips for keeping them safe?

Thank you for your time.

I would probably go to the nearest metal workshop and order an aluminium cover of a few mm thick which they can bend &cut into the shape you want, and then it can be bolted to the baseplate, and people can safely stand on it. Spraypaint it black. Not very expensive, fairly quick to make, looks professional, and impossible to break by tradeshow visitors.

Thanks I’ll look up my local metal shop and see what they can do.

I’m also looking into enclosures like this and cutting a slit into it where the lidar laser comes out I don’t need a full 360 range with the lidar.
