Mac fieldFileBrowser filetypes doesn't recognize default wildcard

getting a report that a UI i built on a pc using the fieldFileBrowser widget won’t allow any selection. Tried on a mac and verified tha I can’t open a .csv file despite the default of . in the File Extension List. this feature works as expected on PC
