Mac vs PC for a workshop

Hello,

I am preparing a workshop I will give in two weeks in Paris (CFPTS).

I have the choice between two type of computer:

– Dell Precision Core i7-13700H (14 Core, 24MB,2.4-5GHz) / 2x8Go (16Go) DDR5 / NVMe M2 Class 35 256 Go / NVIDIA RTX A500, 4 Go

– Mac Studio M2 Max (I can ask for more information)

The workshop will be around methodology, usage for the theatrical stage and Pops.

Do you have any experience comparing this two computers (stability, fps, bugs)? We hwill use the last official version with education licence.

Thank you in advance for your advices,

Jacques

I love running TD on my Mac. Especially since so much content production happily terminates in ProRes output, having native hardware accelerated playback for ProRes makes it an easy win. Of course this reasoning falls apart if you need any of the fun stuff that nVidia gets you (ie: Maxine, broadcast toolset).

I have a client that uses an M1 Ultra Studio for VJ-ing shows and, despite being an older model than your prospective machine, he says it’s his ideal rig.
