Macbook Pro M4 vs. Gaming Laptop

hello - looking for some advice and experience

been using an alienware laptop (rtx 4090) for my live TD work.

for all my other work i use a macbook pro (2019 intel).

i want to upgrade my mac to apple silicon and seeing how well folks say they run TD - i’m wondering if it can replace the alienware. i don’t use any of the nvidia specific operators. i generally prefer macOS as a daily driver, and read it runs TD more efficiently in terms of thermals / battery life.

my TD work tends to be pretty minimal on SOPs - and more TOP based. but i am interested in delving into POPs. so far most of my work has been on single projector, but am interested in expanding that to multiple outputs eventually.

can anyone speak on their experience with the latest macbook pros in terms of TD performance?
