Hey there,
I‘d have a question in the field of mapping.
I know kantan mapper and have already worked with it a bit.
i d need some tips for the realisation of a project.
I d like to map an interactive audiovisual animation on a abstract object /geometry (kinect, zedi2 or oakdpro as input for touching the object).
i would like to project it to the exact surface, not only an area mapping (simple kantan mapper). as often on more complex objects, its not mapping correctly with it, or gets slightly distorted.
I thought of 3d scanning the object completely and then unfold the 3d object to a 2d, on which the texture/animation could be applied.
as a result Id like to have people touching the surface of the real object and I would like to create interactive visuals appearing there, where the object gets touched.
I d also combine this with an audio output.
questions:
-
how to unfold a 3d scan / 3d der object to a 2d form, on which I could apply the output?
-
do I include kantan mapper for this application on the 2d surface or are there other ways with nodes?
connecting realworld with visualisation:
- to locate the position of the touch and the appearing of the visual, I thought of creating a coordinate system for the 2d surface (x,y) that is connected with the coordinates of the real world position of the spectators hands (x,y,z).
question:
- does anybody has experience with creating a link between does to coordinate systems or of creating a connection between 3d position and the reactingnon a 2d „screen“ with a unusual shape?
thanks for any suggestions or reference works,
Sirom
