Any news about driving tempo, start, stop from a MIDI clock ?
Some threads are talking about it without answers and the Beat Dialog does not look in my TD (attached image) as in wiki (link), the MIDI clock tab is missing…
sorry for the late reply.
Have a look at attached file.
There is a component MidiControl which exports the Tempo received via a midi clock to the /local/time component.
A MidiIn DAT in the network is used to Start and Pause the timeline.
To get things going open the Midi Device Mapper and select the incoming Midi Device.
I’ve been trying to get your midi control to work but I’m struggling - I get the MTC into the network without any problems and I understand how this will or should in turn control the time component.
What I don’t understand is where the midiin is getting the information of 120bpm - what is this based on? and why does it not change when i alter the MTC the midiin is receiving?
Yes, that does make sense - I’m actually Mac based and don’t know MidiOx - if I use midi time code it tends to be from something like Qlab which is just send the frames, seconds etc but not a tempo. Thanks the bit I’m stung;ling to work out - using a timer as frames and seconds to sync the time component.
Thanks for the reply
