Midi Latency / lag

Hi Good People,
I’m having trouble with Midi in / Midi Map signal loss and latency lags, Im using external (tested in Ableton Live) hardware to drive midi into params, for example 4/4 kicks to Noise Top amp.
sometimes its tight but must of the time it lags (even without frame loss).
I saw online somewhere that is an issue so I tried :

Midi in - Preserve pulses on/off
Midi Map - samaple rate at 480
All other required Chops (lags,maths) all at 480 and time slices ON

none of those worked, as mentioned before, Ive tested in Live - it works fine there.

Im on MiniMac M4
Is there a fix for this ?

Hi @ArturGirel

is the external hardware sending at high frequency and would you see the same behavior with the Midi In DAT?
What TouchDesigner version are you using and could you provide a bit of a example that is easy to recreate?

Thanks for the reply.
I’m on a Mac mini M4 running Build 2015.32460 of TD
My MIDI deice is a CME H4MIDI + TE ep 133 running 4/4 MIDI kicks at 100 BPM

This video is 3 years old, so it might be fixed already.

Am I missing something?

Hi @ArturGirel,

ah - the video describes the high frequency timestamping issue which was just fixed for the next major release of TouchDesigner. This will only be available in builds in 2026.20k
