the modeller has a lot of improvements on the backburner, undo is one of them. its lower priority for us currently, so please be patient with us.

Hi! I saw this post and was wondering if Selina could answer me, since I read she was working on the model geometry “function”. I have a grid with a Movie in material. I wanted to modify the grid so the movie will deform as I like. I went to model geometry in the grid, in wireframe with the movie in in the background. I saw that I can only modify its vertex or points with a mouse and not by keyboard. I ve tried a sopto DAT and I got the coordinates, but I cant modify them inside the DAT. Ive tried converting it to a text, and no results either. I can copy them though, and paste them somewhere else were I can modify this, but it takes too many steps… it would be great to be able to modify them in the DAT or in the same model geometry window with keyboard.
Is it possible?

hello Caro

you cannot currently modify geometry in the modeler via the keyboard, however, if you have the transformation jack up, you can modify the grid a bit more precisely by middle clicking on the jack to bring up the ladder to adjust values. or since you have extracted coordinates via the SOP to DAT, you can lock then lock that DAT and edit the values directly, and then pop them back onto the grid with the DAT to SOP.

Hey I’d like to nudge for modelling undo to go up a bit in priority.
I can live with the other problems with the current modeller but lack of undo makes it unusable.
It’s great to be able to just draw a few curves etc. without going off into another program.

I know the modeller is not going to get better anytime soon but undo alone would make it usable and let people think about what they need for modelling inside Touch, assuming that hard-core modelling will be done in another program and imported via .fbx files.

going back to touch017 is downright scary now! :slight_smile:

In 2003, Touch had a quite usable modeller.

even if the current one is buggy as a rotten hippo, if undo works, I can deal with the other stuff.

please don’t make me install touch017 just for the modeller

or just delete it and put us out of our misery. :slight_smile:
