Movie File Out TOP works fine on TouchDesigner perform mode but doesn't work on TouchPlayer

Hey everyone, I’m new to TouchDesigner. It’s awesome!

So, I was trying to save the TOP to images by pressing a button. It works perfectly when I run the project by using Touch Designer even though in perform mode. Alternatively, when i run the project by using Touch Player instead of Touch Designer, it does work at all. I mean it looks the same but no files have been saved. I’ve read the doc of the movie file out TOP but i couldn’t find any lines about the limitations on Touch Player. So, I’m not saving MP4, it should work with the free license which I’m using, shouldn’t it?

What codec are you trying to save out?

I’m trying to save GIF.

The file you posted is trying to save .jpeg, did you post the correct file?

I’ve tried both opening this .toe directly, and opening TouchPlayer and then dragging the .toe onto it. In both cases it saves the .jpgs out correctly.

Can you provide the steps you are using to open the file? Where is the .toe file located?

I’m using the 2021 series of builds to test here.
