HEYA people,
I am curious as to why my touchdesigner application is having difficulties keeping up with certain projects that includes point chop/top, the point generator pop and line MAT. It seems that when I put them in the same chain my gpu can’t keep up, giving me warnings and errors, though my laptop should be able to process it (MacBook Air M2 v.2022 8 core gpu) - it first says that I don’t have enough GPU resources and then not enough GPU storage.
note: I have tried opening the project on a MacBook Pro with either 16 or 20 core GPU, and those same issues with warnings and errors occurred.
the MacBook itself, giving me 2 notifications:
The Vulkan Device has returned a fatal error code.
Ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your GPU by updating macOS to the latest version possible.
Otherwise, if you are using GLSL TOP/MATs, check your code and try to simplify complex shaders.
and a fatal error TouchDesigner has encountered an error and must close.
Whether the file is simple and uses very little processing or more detailed and complex, there’s always a sort of warning and/error appearing when opening and later in the processing of further attached nodes/operators.
In the project, the specific problem of application crash down occurs when I attach the point generator pop to a copy pop while also connecting a sphere pop - it all runs into a render top.
Im also given warnings when starting a new project e.g.
The following messages were generated during the loading of this file:
Warning: Load error during token: "view: (sys/TDTox/popViewer/rolloverAttributes/delete2.n)" (OP_Node, Intrinsic) (/sys/TDTox/popViewer/rolloverAttributes/delete2)
Message: Start compiling DAT: /local/maps/replicator1_callbacks (/local/maps/replicator1_callbacks)
Message: End compiling DAT: /local/maps/replicator1_callbacks (/local/maps/replicator1_callbacks)
Is there anyone who has/had similar problems with TD?
and what would you do to solve the issues?
Note: I’ve tried to delete touchdesigner after having accidentally deleted some encodings of the touchdesigner application itself so I downloaded everything again. - nothing changed though.
- I followed Bileam Tschepe’s tutorial at: Particle Collisions with Ray POP – TouchDesigner Tutorial 78 for the project mentioned about pop and top operators.
Thank u for reading, I will try ANYTHING to get it working normal again ![]()
