Hi,
I have multiple video TOPs which I need to combine into 1 4k output and have been trying with layout TOP and also container COMP, but as the inputs are different sizes I am getting gaps between them. Is there way to manually align stuff in a layout TOP, or instead the children in a container COMP?
This is what the setup ive tried for layout TOP looks like (the container comp looks the same):
I also played around with using the composite TOP to try and manually align 2 of these so i could align them in groups of 2 before putting them into a layout but was unable to get them lined up nicely
is the output via a Window Component? In this case I would create this with a hierarchy of Container COMPs split into rows and columns.
Making use of the Children Align features as well as the automatic sizing with the Horizontal Mode and Vertical Mode parameter’s “Fill” setting, makes the setup pretty quick and optimized.
There’s a lot of ways to do this so just thought I’d chime in.
If your output is via a top (BMD, AJA, e.g) for each “Screen” you need 2 fit TOPs
The first fit top should be set to the resolution of each “Screen” in mode “Custom Resolution” under Common>Output Resolution. You can set the fit mode to whatever works best.
The second fit top should be these settings:
Fit > Native Resolution
Common > Output Revolution > Custom
Common > Resolution > 3840x2160 (or your canvas size)
Use the translate and/or pivot settings to position your screen in the desired corner.
Take all 4 of your fit tops and send them to a comp in mode “Over”. Voila!
I use this a lot in live shows and it’s quick and dirty
