With NDI in the hands of VZRT and starting to move in a not ideal direction ( @Peeet made some good points on the discord ) it seems that OMT (Open Media Transport) is positioned as a direct alternative and, for example, already implemented in vMix, which is a strong start.
SMTPE2120 seems to bring itself as the new professional standart, but requires dedicated/complex hardware and setut.
OMT tries to hit the same sport as NDI somewhere in between.

Seems great and open source.
Though last time i tested it, latency was much higher than NDI.
But i am sure it will improve over time
