New TouchDesigner installation hanging at 21499 nodes loaded

Hi,
I’ve recently been attempting to get TouchDesigner running on my M1 MacBook Air, but across 3 installations I keep finding that the software hangs on first load, with the only information being Nodes: 21499. I find no crash, it simply doesn’t stop loading.

Can anyone lend me any help?

Can you share the full spec of the Macbook ?

Can you share the OS version you are running ?

I’m assuming you tried to re-download the installer ?

Best,
Michel

I’m on a 256GB, 16GB RAM, M1 Air, currently running the MacOS 26 Tahoe Beta, which I’m now realising is likely the issue. Yes, I have tried to re-download the installer, several times.

Hi

Yep I’m afraid we don’t support macOS developer previews - they are a chance for us and Apple to address issues with new releases.

That said, you could collect a spin report and we can log it.

Welp, good thing I have a Windows machine to try it out on. I’ll upload that spindump in a bit, thank you!

Here’s the spin report, worth noting the program never froze per se, it simply kept loading. It’s been 5371 seconds now

Thanks for the spindump.

It looks like TouchDesigner is hanging waiting for your permission to access files on the Desktop. Are you sure there isn’t a dialog asking you to grant access? It may be appearing behind other windows if you’ve clicked into another app while TouchDesigner launches.

You can also manually add this if for some reason macOS is not opening the dialog. Its under the Privacy & Security section of System Preferences.

Thank you both! I must have accidentally hit decline, I added TouchDesigner to Full Disk Access and it works now!
