obj sequence and animation

Hi all.
I have an animated sim that was created in Maya. This means that the vertexes are animated and not bones or geo.I was told to try an use an obj sequence to get both the animation and model into touch but when I did i just got tons of files and no animation.Does anybody have any advice on how to get this sim in?I know FBX,DAE-FBX and OBJ do not store animated vertex info.Thank you

Hi,

I hope this helps, it’s not stress-tested by any means, so I have no idea if it mises frames. I would also believe that an obj sequence would actually have the vertices move. here is a screenshot of the hack I did. Essentially, you would insert some python in the “file in” nodes so you can open all of the sequence files one after the other quickly.

Hi @priam,

It’s a few years later, but I am trying to get an obj sequence from depthkit into touchdesigner and I am keen to attempt your hack. I’ve gotten the basic network built based on your photo, but I’m wondering if you might be able to give a more in-depth description of what you did! Any advice would be soooo helpful!

Thanks so much!!!
