Optical Flow Data Moshing - Help me recreate this effect!

Hey lovely folks. I recently stumbled upon this video by neurotypique, which emulates a datamoshing style using optical flows and feedback loops. I am trying to replicate this effect for a project, but I am struggling. Here is a preview of the effect, but since motion is a crucial part only a video can convey the context. To help me you’d probably have to check out the post I linked.

This is what I could gather from their Instagram post:

Follower: Are you only adding the optical flow as part of the feedback?
Neurotypique: pretty much yes!I use it as a displace texture in a displace TOP. It’s combined as Lighter color in a composite TOP!

I tried fiddling around in TouchDesigner myself and even asked on Reddit but I am none the wiser. I still struggle with more complex Operators like Optical Flow (or anything involving textures), so I’d really appreciate some help.

This is what I’ve tried so far:

As you can see I tried replicating the operators based on neurotypiques comments, but I am not the same effect. I have disable my camera input for privacy reasons, it is of course working.

Hey! I happen to have two blog articles on these kind of techniques.
Here is my TD community post with template .toe attached and a link to the blog post.
The blog post is not so much a tutorial to achieve that specific effect, but it’s a comprehensive guide that will hopefully equip you with knowledge to experiment on your own and come up with many different effects, including the one you linked.

This looks great, thank you so much! I will definitely give recreating it another try with your thorough blog post. Much appreciated.
